The Columbus Home Builders Association is a local, professional, industry trade group supporting the residential construction industry in Columbus, Nebraska, and surrounding area communities. Our members include home builders, remodelers, and other ancillary industry professionals who are committed to affordable housing in the community.

In cooperation with the Nebraska State Home Builders Association (NSHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the Association advocates for residential homeowners, renters, and professional builder members at the local, state, and national levels. Efforts include lobbying for reasonable, economical laws, ordinances, regulations, codes, and standards to ensure the sufficient availability of reasonably priced, quality new homes and residential housing to meet the demand of the local market, now and in the future. As well as training, education, and professional development to members, industry professionals, and the public at large on important issues. Including but not limited to legislation, safety, codes, regulations, standards, new building products, techniques, professional skills, industry and economic trends.

CHBA in partnership with NSHBA and NAHB advises and liaises with government agencies such as OSHA and the EPA to ensure that safety and environmental regulations address real issues in a consequential, reasonable, economical, versatile and unobtrusive way. While supporting and cooperating with the International Code Council (ICC) towards the development, maintenance, adoption, and promulgation of sensible, economical building codes such as the International Residential Code (IRC), and International Building Codes (IBC). When consensus is not possible, to develop and proffer a reasonable ANSI Standard alternatives such as the National Green Building Standard (NGBS). Ensuring the construction and purchase of a new or existing home remains an economical, desirable, durable, financeable, insurable low maintenance equity investment vehicle for a homeowner to securely build personal wealth and enriched lives and families in.
